NEXUS

a connection or series of connections linking two or more things.”

NEXUS is a Kang Contemporary gallery project that was brought to life to celebrate the international community that comes together in Berlin. Kang Contemporary understands itself as a point of connection, a crossroad for the creative scene in Berlin to meet and exchange. In three affirmative chapters, we are dedicated to promoting diverse artistic voices, embracing a multidisciplinary approach, and fostering meaningful dialogue and collaboration. We want to cultivate a transcultural hub that resembles Berlin’s dynamic as a global village in today’s evolving world. This is not a goal in itself, however, but an entry point from which we embark on new collaborations and creative discourse.

KANG CONTEMPORARY COMMUNITY

As a gallery, we want to make the many aspects of the art world visible and open to our audience. In addition, we want to create a community where people from different backgrounds can come together through their interest in art. Through events, we open our gallery and encourage dialogue and a get-together. Additionally, we support our artists with regular studio visits and discourses about their art. Often we are able to share these with our community.

Invitation to 54th World Economic Forum annual meeting | 15.01 - 19.01.24

Kang Contemporary is honored and delighted to be invited by Financial Times to The 54th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos.

We are appreciative of the forward looking practices of FT to include the creative community in World Economic Forum discourses.

We believe a pragmatic approach of opening interdisciplinary discourse is much needed in an attempt to find constructive solutions to our current complicated and tense geopolitical and economic situation. We've learned a lot through the summit with many informative and inspiring ideas,  which also gave us the impetus on how our community might creatively contribute to the ideas of inclusivity, diversity, empathy, equality, innovation, sustainability and democratic future.

BBA Artist Prize 2023

“Judging art is hard work. And this board has accepted the job.” -BBA Gallery

We had the honor of serving as a judge at the prestigious BBA Gallery Artist Prize. It was a privilege to be part of this esteemed event that celebrates and recognizes outstanding talent in the art world internationally. The jury carefully evaluated submissions based on visual excellence, storytelling, conceptual thinking, technical craftsmanship, subject depth, and understanding. It was truly inspiring to witness a diverse array of artists, ranging from seasoned individuals with established track records to promising talents embarking on their artistic journeys. The BBA Artist Prize provided an inclusive platform, welcoming applicants of all genders and nationalities, with no restrictions on experience or social/educational background. Kang Contemporary extends sincere congratulations to all participants and winners, celebrating the enriching diversity of artistic expression within the event. We look forward to continued engagement with the BBA Artist Prize in 2024.
