Hara Shin

Hara Shin is an artist based in Berlin and Seoul. Working with film, multimedia installations, and storytelling, she explores speculative ecosystems reflected by planetary concerns such as habitat loss, mass extinction, and involuntary migration alongside the residual memories and hegemonic structures left behind by humanity. Recognizing natural phenomena, bodily organs, language, politics, network systems, and artificial devices as both sensate subjects and active agents, she experiments with the hybrid states, applicable to both inorganic and organic matter. Through the perspectives of decolonial methodologies, feminist technoscience, and neo-materialism, Shin conceives her artistic practice as a metabolic process traversing the boundaries between self and other.
